Bob joins the pod at 23:30 and joins the discussion of what you would want on your tombstone by saying he wants to be cremated. Rich and teddy also join the conversation and offer Griss a free bike.
The guys have selected a new book--Knowledge of the Holy by A.W. Tozer. They finally really get into the book at the 31:25 mark.
A special pod to end The Cost of Discipleship! The guys welcome Drew's dad--Dave Steinhart and Bob sits end as they cover the final two chapters of COD.
They discuss everything from Dave's Jazz radio program in Cameroon to #Lochtegate and then have a very heady conversation on the last two chapters (20:00) discussing Justification, Sanctification, the role of the church in the world and how we are now classified as saints.
Drew and Griss record a special Saturday night edition of the pod and try to hit all the normal segments: What's good?, Mug of the Week and Weather update. They tackle the Pokemon Go phenomenon (1:00) and drew give an extensive review of the middle school camp he just attended (9:05). Drew and Griss find time in between their many summer travels to pod and hit on the news of the week as well as discuss some Dietrich.
They begin with Griss' observations on the USA Olympic trials (0:36) and the Weather Update. They forget to do What's Good, and jump right into Drew's thoughts on all the shootings and craziness going on this week (6:15).
After a thorough discussion of current events, they lighten the pod with the Mug of the Week (22:00) and NBA Free Agency talk. They finally dive into the book (27:31) and have a good discussion on what it means to follow the living Christ, what Baptism into Christ means and the value and validity of infant baptism.
Drew and Griss return with what begins as a low energy negative pod, but then blossoms into amazingness. They fight through several interruptions and end well. They discuss wedding rings, trips to Costa Rica, and Drew’s philosophy of low expectations in life (0:00-5:00). They do the Weather Update, Mug of the Week (7:25) which sparks a discussion on state and locale songs (9:48) and which state and county songs are the best. They do their weekly synopsis of the Finals in the What’s good section (14:50). They again cover conspiracy theories and NBA player salaries.
Bob returns and catapults the podcast into a higher energy discussion (23:28) and they are then joined by Teddy and she discusses her 50th anniversary. They FINALLY get to the book at the (33:30) minute mark and talk about THE WORK of the LORD. They talk for 16 mins and then have their wives join them for a final pleasant interruption!
